Recorders
Students will be playing the recorders this year in 4th grade. It is recommended that each student have their own recorder. Students have three options for obtaining a recorder. Students will be bringing home a brochure that explains about their options. Please complete the brochure and return it to the classroom teacher by September 20th, 2016. If you choose to purchase a recorder, please do so through PaySchools on the district website. You can click on the link below to download the powerpoint on how to purchase a recorder.

Recorders will be shipped to the school and handed out in class. Purchasing the recorders in this way cuts down on paying individual shipping costs, and makes sure we have recorders that are in tune with each other.
This week (Sept 7): Students will play the drums to the song Ram, Sam, Sam as we review note values that we learned last year, and practice singing a canon, Make New Friends.
Expectations
To be successful students are expected to follow the music motto, the same as last year:
We are developing musicians who: listen attentively, sing enthusiastically, move appropriately, and respect the music of others.
Each making period students' citizenship grade is based on their ability to follow the music motto. This motto also aligns with our PBIS initiative here at Wylie to:
Be Safe, Be Respectful, Be Responsible.
